Advance Certificate in Church Music

In accordance with Australian tertiary standards, Australian Baptist College measures credit hours in “units.”  One unit is equivalent to approximately ten hours of lecture time per term, or more accurately, ten 45 minute lectures per term.  To receive a Certificate degree, for example, the student must satisfactorily complete the requirements of a course of study that totals 40 units of lecture periods of 45 minutes each in addition to 24 units of practical ministry.

Every year of completed subjects qualifies you to receive a certificate award -

First Year:                 Certificate of Biblical Ministry

Second Year:          Advance Certificate of Biblical Ministry

Third Year:               Graduate of Biblical Ministry

Fourth Year:             Licentiate of Biblical Ministry

We evaluate subjects on a term basis rather than a semester basis.  There are four terms in a year and there are two semesters in a year made up of two terms each.  Each term is roughly ten weeks in length while a semester is approximately twenty weeks in length.  Some of the subjects we offer are only ten weeks in length while others are 20, 30 or 40 weeks (or lecture hours) in length.  This allows more subjects to be covered overall.  We can have variety as well as depth in our subjects.

In order to help students with work commitments most of our lectures are at night.
